Do I need to purchase a ticket to the event?
YES.
General Admission tickets are $110, plus $7 booking fee
VIP Tickets are also available (18 and over only) for $150 + $7 booking fee

Is this an all ages event?
No. Fat As Butter is restricted to 16 years and over.
Legal proof of age identification will be required from everyone wishing to enter the festival.
If you do not currently have formal photo ID you may wish to explore these options:
- RTA Proof of Age Card
- Australia Passport
- Drivers License
It is the responsibility of the ticket holder to have Photo ID upon entry as you will be asked for it and require it upon entry to the event.
Wristbands will be issued for those wishing to purchase alcohol at the event.
Can I drive to the venue and park?
Courthouse Parking Station (521 spaces), on Bolton Street, Newcastle, is within walking distance of the venue.

Parking will be free of charge on the day.
Should I catch public transport?
Yes!We recommend attendees to use public transport on the day to avoid congestion.
Newcastle Buses and Ferries
Normal bus and ferry services to and from Newcastle and surrounding areas will be running throughout the day as per Saturday schedules.

Trains
Normal train services to and from Newcastle train station will be running throughout the day as per normal schedules. Extra ‘Special Event Train Services’ will be running all day in addition to the standard train services.
Tickets for travel on trains can only be purchased on the day of travel. These are available for purchase at the train station or at your nearest news agents.

We strongly advise that you purchase a ‘return’ ticket on your inbound journey to alleviate queuing for tickets. Costs for tickets vary and is based on your area of travel.
Transit Police will be present and fining any persons travelling without a valid train ticket.
Air
Newcastle Airport is located 30 minutes from Newcastle city centre and is the fastest growing regional airport in Australia with direct flights from
Melbourne, Brisbane, Sydney, The Gold Coast and Canberra.

Will there be police at the event?
Yes, you can count on it.
We have been working closely with the police to ensure a safe and enjoyable event for all.
Anti-social behaviour, drug-related activity and general public safety issues will be monitored and managed closely by event staff, security and the police.
Will I be able to leave the event and come back in? (passouts)
No. There will be no passouts at for the event – once you’re out, you’re out!
Will there be access for mobility-impaired?
Yes. Mobility parking is available within the nearby Courthouse public car park on Bolton Street.
Mobility access to the event and bathrooms will be available, as well as a designated mobility impaired viewing area.
Security and event staff at the gate and car parks can assist with access support if required by notification at entry gates upon arrival.

Will food and beverages be available at the event?
Yes. Expect all the usual, including fresh juices, tea and coffee, gelato, and a variety of food available for purchase within the event site.
Will there be ATM facilities at the event?
Yes. EFTPOS will be available at the box office and selected service areas.
There will also be an ATM area inside the event, which will be accessible to all patrons.
The exact location of said area will be shown on the event map, which will be made available on the website closer to the event.
Please bring ample cash with you, as cash supply from the ATMs may not last all day.
Will there be toilets?
Yes, lots, and at several locations within the site.
All toilet areas will also cater to mobility-impaired persons.
When at the event please plan your toilet trips, as queues may be unavoidable at certain times during the day.
Public urination and improper conduct will result in ejection from the event and police fines.

Will there be seating at the event?
Assorted table and chair seating will be available within the event site. No raised seating will be permitted onto the event site.
What happens if the event is cancelled?
We plan to go ahead, come rain or shine; however extreme weather may result in a cancellation for safety reasons.
Cancellation of the event will be broadcast via media outlets including radio, TV and online, as well as personnel at gates to inform anyone who missed out on messages via media.
All VMS signage will be changed to display cancellation messages.
Is there anything I should remember to bring to the event?
Gates open at 12pm for this event.
Remember to wear suitable attire for the weather (hats, sunscreen if hot).
You MUST show Proof of Age identification upon entry.
Is there anything I should NOT bring to the event?
You must NOT bring any of the following items into the venue:
- food or beverages including water (other than for personal special dietary requirements)
- raised seating
- umbrellas
- video cameras or professional recording equipment
- glass
- knifes, weapons, packages or fireworks;
- any object that could be used to distract, hinder or interfere with any patrons including laser pointers
- any flags with poles
- animals (apart from authorised guide / companion dogs)
- any dangerous goods
- any other items deemed by management to be dangerous or capable of causing a public nuisance
Any items considered unsafe will be confiscated upon entry bag checks
Can I smoke at the event?
Yes. You can smoke at the event only in licensed areas of the event. Within these licensed areas are designated smoking areas where patrons can smoke.
Smoking outside these areas is prohibited as the event site will be non smoking. Smoking inside enclosed areas is prohibited. Smoking is at your own risk and you are expected to abide by health laws pertaining to smoking.
Can I purchase tobacco products at the event?
No. There will be no retail facilities for smoking products and there will be no pass outs allowed.
Will my bags be searched at the event?
Yes, bag checks will be carried out upon entry to event and there will be no pass outs issued.
Will there be cloak room at the event?
Yes, bag, jackets and other items will be able to be checked into the cloak room. There will be a designated cloak room area and will incur a charge.
I have special dietary / medical needs; can I bring food, medication or specific beverages to the event?
Yes you can. You can request this and gain approval via email /fax to Mothership Music office.
